Resveratrol structure includes phytoalexin, produced by plants like red grapes and peanuts in the event of fungal and bacterial attacks. Pure Resveratrol is also produced chemically, which is used as nutritional supplement. Pure Resveratrol is a light red or brownish powder and is available in sachets of various quantities from 1kg. It might have an off white or lighter color too if bleaching has occurred while extracting it. It is fairly stable and should preferably be stored in an amber colored bottle away from direct sun light and humidity. Trans-resveratrol remains stable in atmosphere under 75% humidity and 40 degrees C temperature. If exposed to ultra violet rays it could undergo isomerisation to convert itself into its isomer of cis- form.
